Danny Welbeck injury dominates Arsenal reaching Europa League round 32

Arsenal has reached this season Europa League round 32, still with major injury concerns for Welbeck.

Arsenal were hold to a goalless draw against Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon at Emirates Stadium to join their London rival Chelsea in the knockout stage.

Sporting Lisbon finished the match with 10 men when former Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu was booked a straight red card after his foul on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was clean through, although Gunners could not find their match winning goal.

But the match was outshined by the injury to England forward Danny Welbeck, who was carried out from the pitch with stretcher.

The 27-year-old Arsenal striker was injured in the 25th minute of the game when he jumped for a header and landed wrongly on his right ankle.

He was given oxygen and his leg in a protective brace as he was taken from the pitch, with roughly 10 medical staff round him as he received treatment.

Some of his teammates were also obviously affected by the case.
