Europa League: Unai Emery makes two surprise selections in players to face Sporting Lisbon



Arsenal takes on Sporting Lisbon in Portugal for their third Europa League match hoping to extend their win streak to 11 matches in all competition.

Unai Emery has selected a solid squad heading into the game against Sporting Lisbon and has two surprise selections Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who has rule out with a hamstring injury, and Mohamed Elneny who has also been out.

Arsenal will still be without Petr Cech who has a hamstring issue thus Carl Jenkinson and fourth choice goalkeeper Deyan Iliev have been named in the squad.

Playmaker Mesut Ozil his among the players Arsenal boss named to play against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal today.

There were rumors that Emery may have rested the Him (Ozil) after his brilliant display against Leicester City on Monday.

Mesut Ozil has not start a single match in the Europa League for the Gunners but have a goal.
Unai Emery has taken 21 players to Portugal for the clash so three players will miss out for the match-day team selection.

A few teenage stars including Smith Rowe have been selected but it does not seem that Unai Emery will play a weakened side.

The Arsenal manager looks to be taking the competition seriously and has already won the Europa League three times in his time at Sevilla.
